Founded in 1991, we are a privately-owned Full Integration Asset Based 3PL. We are head quartered in the Greater Toronto area with offices in Ottawa, Montreal, Kitchener, Pittsburgh and a terminal based in Hawkesbury, ON. At this terminal, we provide full repair and maintenance on our fleet of trucks.

With this in mind, we are growing our team in Hawkesbury and require the expertise of a Motor Vehicle Mechanic.
We are looking for a Motor Vehicle Mechanic in our Hawkesbury location.
TASKS:
As a Motor Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance on trucks, checking batteries, changing oil and test driving to ensure our vehicles are running properly. You will Inspect various parts of trucks, including brake systems, wheel bearings and steering mechanisms to ensure they are in the proper condition to operate effectively. Adjust equipment and repair/replace any defective parts by using different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges,
pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, screwdrivers, hoists and jacks, to repair trucks while constantly utilizing safety precautions.
Our Motor Vehicle Mechanic will work closely with our team to diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devises such as motor analyzers, handheld computers and chassis charts to determine how to address problems. Replacing parts, valves, bearings and gears as needed and repair vehicle cooling and heating systems.
CREDENTIALS:
Education:
This role requires someone with a University/Bachelor’s degree, as well as someone who is truck maintenance/mechanic certified. You should have knowledge and experience working with Electrical/Electronic components as well as experience working with Diesel and Gasoline engines, 6 & 8 Cylinders.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have 3 – 5 years of hands-on experience with a thorough knowledge and understanding of Caterpillar, c15 engines. As well as with other heavy machinery repair and maintenance, both corrective and preventative an asset.
Specialization & Skills:
Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs and should be in overall good physical health.
Ability to solve basic problems that may arise on the job
Knowledge of electrical, electronic components as well as Diesel and Gasoline Engines
Experienced in Engine Repair, diagnostics, alignment, steering & suspension, fuel and emissions, and both standard & automatic transmissions
Experience with both 6 & 8 cylinder engines
Ability to respond to inquiries in a timely manner and be able to prioritize important work
Ability to communicate any issues or problems to upper management while also being able to work with other staff members to get a particular job completed
Ability to organize calendars and appointments especially in relation to regular required maintenance
You must be able to work independently and as part of a team and have exceptional time management skills.
Primary communication: English, French an asset
